Being deployed to Iraq sucks. But it's bearable for
two main reasons: 1) We haven't had any deaths from
our Company or Platoon. and 2) People here love White
Wolf games!
There's been a chronicle going on now for about six
months and, even though mortar attacks interrupt
gaming sessions, people love it! Some of the soldiers
here are into Vampire, but lots and lots of them are
turning to Werewolf for the similarities to military
life.
Being part of a close-knit team in a foreign land
defending a wounded benefactor... See? It's just
like the military! The concept of "rank structure" is
more easily assimilated too. And you should see the
packing lists people develop for their Garou! We get
so used to picking up and moving that when we have
characters that have to travel we make lists of all
the stuff we might need. Yeah, some people think
that's a little too much, but soldiers actually like
it! ha ha!
Hope everyone had a good holiday. Whether it was
Channukah, Yule, Christmas, Kwanzaa, or the Winter
Solstice.
We're still dealing here in Iraq. The game goes on!
